The Bible In One Year is a popular and effective daily Bible reading programme which makes reading through the whole Bible easier than ever.
This NIV Bible takes readers through the entirety of Scripture in one year. Each day there is a psalm or proverb, a New Testament passage, and an Old Testament passage. It is ideal for personal devotions and will only take you around fifteen minutes per day. You can begin reading at any time of year.
The psalms and proverbs begin each day; their concise and poetic nature makes them a good starting point for reflection. Then the vivid stories and inspiring teaching of the New Testament set the scene for understanding the Old Testament, placing both in the context of God's overarching plan for his people.
This edition uses a clear 7.25pt font size and has an easy-to-read layout with extra-wide, lined margins, and thicker Bible paper for notes, doodles and reflections from your time in God’s word. A ribbon marker is included to help keep your place.
At the beginning is a What is the Bible? section which gives a helpful introduction to the different types of literature in the Bible, and The Bible at a Glance section shows in more detail the timescale of each book of the Bible and the flow of biblical history. The index section indicates where each book of the Bible begins, and the Psalm Index will help you locate Psalms and Proverbs.
Additionally, you can read and hear a helpful commentary on each day's passages by Nicky Gumbel, Vicar of HTB in London and pioneer of Alpha, through the Bible In One Year app or the printed commentary. A youth version is also available.
